I have a Colorful X22 laptop that features both an Intel GPU and an NVIDIA RTX 3050. Despite trying to change the settings in the NVIDIA control panel and reinstalling the drivers, I can't seem to get the laptop to use the RTX 3050 for gaming. My BIOS doesn't provide an option to disable the Intel GPU either. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can force the RTX to be used while gaming?

I can relate to this issue! I've faced similar problems and I found a few ways to alleviate it. Sometimes, connecting an external monitor helps the laptop detect the RTX more reliably. Also, upgrading to at least 16GB RAM can improve your overall performance which might indirectly help the GPU switching issues, although it might not be a direct fix. Have you tried these yet?
Definitely worth a shot! Good luck!
First off, make sure you're checking which GPU is being used while gaming. You can use tools like MSI Afterburner to monitor GPU usage in real-time. If you find out that games are indeed using the Intel GPU, you might try setting the specific games to run with the NVIDIA GPU in the NVIDIA control panel. Look for 'Manage 3D settings' and then set the preferred graphics processor to the RTX 3050 for each game individually. Let me know how that goes!
No problem! Also check that your laptop's power settings are set to high performance, just to make sure everything is running at peak capacity.
Thanks for the tip! I didn't realize that was an option. I'll give it a shot.
I haven't tried an external monitor yet, but I'll look into it!
