Need Help Choosing Between Two PSUs for My Build

I'm in the process of building a new setup featuring a 5090 and I'm trying to decide which power supply unit (PSU) to go with. I'm considering the Enermax PlatiGemini 1200W or the CORSAIR HX1200i (2025). While the Corsair seems to have more positive reviews, it's also pricier. The Enermax has good specifications but doesn't seem to be talked about as much. I'd love to hear any experiences or recommendations from those who have used these models. Thanks!

It really depends on how much more you're paying for the Corsair. Generally, it's regarded as a higher quality PSU, but both are solid choices with good warranties—like 10 years! If the price gap isn't a dealbreaker for you, go with the Corsair for the peace of mind.

The price difference is about $100. If the Corsair is genuinely better made, it might be worth splurging a bit!

You mentioned the wattage for the 5090—make sure to consider the power supply ratings. A good rule is to get at least a 600W PSU that supports 12V-2X6 cabling for optimal performance. Newer PSUs can handle peaks better, some even over 200% of their rating, so don't shy away from getting something robust. Be cautious of the older melting connector issue though!

I get your analogy, but Nvidia suggests a minimum 1000W PSU for the 5090. I wouldn't want to go below that for safety reasons, even if modern PSUs can handle more! As for the connections, aren't the 12V-2x6 and 12VHPWR cables essentially the same?
