Why is my new gaming PC only getting 25 FPS in League of Legends?

I recently upgraded to a prebuilt PC featuring an Intel i5-14400F and an RTX 5070, which is a significant upgrade from my previous Ryzen 3400G build. I installed Windows (though it's not activated yet) and excitedly jumped into League of Legends, only to see my frame rates drop to a shocking 25 FPS instead of the expected 240+. I'm really confused and would appreciate any advice on what might be going wrong. Thanks!

First off, check if you've updated your graphics drivers and all Windows updates. Make sure to use the Nvidia GeForce Experience to optimize your settings. Also, turn off V-Sync, as it can sometimes cap your FPS. 25 FPS is way too low for your setup!

Another thing to try is to limit your FPS through the Nvidia control panel, especially for League of Legends. I've had similar issues with cap settings causing weird performance drops. Make sure it's capped at your monitor’s refresh rate!

Did you accidentally plug your HDMI or DisplayPort cable into the motherboard instead of the GPU? That could definitely be causing your low FPS. Just a heads up, the i5-14400F has no integrated graphics, so make sure your cable is in the right place!

Haha, my bad! I did plug it into the wrong port at first, but I fixed that. Still not hitting the performance I expected though.

No worries, it happens to the best of us! Let's keep troubleshooting!
