Is the be quiet! Pure Rock 3 Adequate for a Ryzen 5 7600X?

I'm building a PC with a Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, and I'm unsure about which air cooler to get. I've seen some videos suggesting that Zen 4 processors typically hit around 95°C, which seems pretty high. I want to choose a good air cooler that can handle this, and I'm specifically wondering if the be quiet! Pure Rock 3 would be enough.

If you're aiming for the best performance, consider the NH-D15 with Kryonaut thermal paste. It’s an investment, but the performance is top-notch.

That's not available where I live.

That setup can get pricey! Also, I’ve heard Kryonaut isn't the best long-term. It starts off good but then loses effectiveness after a while. Maybe look at other thermal pastes that last longer.

Yeah, the Pure Rock 3 should do fine. Even a budget cooler like the Peerless Assassin can handle the Ryzen 5 without sweating too much.

95°C isn’t normal; I’ve stress-tested my 7600X, and it maxes out at around 85°C.

Just a heads up, the Peerless Assassin goes for around $36+, not $20. You might be thinking of some of their more budget-friendly single tower options.

You might want to check out the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 (SE) or the Peerless Assassin 120. They usually cost about the same as the Pure Rock 3, and honestly, BeQuiet coolers don’t perform great on the AM5 socket. Even their single tower coolers are a better bet than the Pure Rock 3.

I got the Pure Rock 3 Pro for a steal, and my 9600X never goes above 70°C while gaming. I play CPU-intensive games, so I'm usually pushing it hard. I also use a Thermalright contact frame, which might help with the cooling.

Sounds good, I’ll see if I can find the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120.

I have a Pure Rock 2 rated at 150W TDP, and it sometimes hits over 80°C in games. I'm considering getting a contact frame, as it might help with temps.

If you can find the AK620 or A620 coolers, those are solid alternatives as well. They perform well and should fit your needs too.
