Advice on Building My First Casual Gaming PC

I'm looking to build my first PC primarily for casual gaming, and I want to ensure it can handle most games at medium settings—Cyberpunk 2077 is a key example for me. Here's the rough list of parts I have in mind: an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, a Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB graphics card, a Gigabyte B550M motherboard, a DEEPCOOL AK400 CPU cooler, 16GB of G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4 RAM, a DEEPCOOL 650W power supply, and a DEEPCOOL case with ARGB fans. Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated!

For a gaming PC, prioritize buying a quality GPU first if you're on a budget. I’d recommend looking for older models with at least 12GB VRAM—they'll last longer. You can find decent used options that won’t break the bank.

Definitely consider second-hand prices; they might save you some cash!

Right, I'm checking used GPUs to see how they compare. It’s a smart way to save some money!

If you're okay with AMD, I’d suggest upgrading to the RX 6600. It's around $220, and you'll have some budget left over. If you're sticking with NVIDIA, a 3060 with 12GB is around $260; much better performance and VRAM.

I’m torn on the GPU choice, too. I don’t want to overspend, but I want it to last a while!

I think the RTX 3050 6GB might struggle with most games, especially Cyberpunk. It could potentially hold you back from enjoying the game fully at those medium settings you’re aiming for.

I have a GTX 1650 with a Ryzen 5 3600, and I still get decent settings in Cyberpunk, so it's not impossible. It really depends on how you set it up!

With the right tweaks, the 3050 might perform okay. My 1660 Super runs Cyberpunk well even at 3840x2160, just a bit laggy in menus!
