My 8-year-old son is super passionate about coding! He's already spent a lot of time using Scratch on his iPad, but now he's curious about trying out other programming platforms like Python, JavaScript, or C++. I'm not really familiar with any of these, especially since we prefer not letting him browse the internet unsupervised. Can anyone recommend some good coding programs or apps that would be suitable for him? I'm open to any suggestions to help nurture his interest! Thanks a lot!

Since you have an iPad, I’d highly recommend looking into Swift Playground. It’s a fun and interactive way to learn programming through games and puzzles. Plus, it introduces him to coding through the Swift language, which is used for creating iOS apps—it’s way more engaging compared to text-based languages like Python or C++!

Thanks for the suggestion! That sounds like it would fit his learning style well!

You might want to check out some Python books that are beginner-friendly. Just a heads-up, many resources out there are aimed at adults, so it could take some digging to find suitable ones. Also, there are some cool projects on the Raspberry Pi website that could be good, but keep in mind they are web-based.
