How can I uninstall the Windows 11 Update KB2267602 that keeps forcing itself back on?

I've encountered a frustrating issue after the Windows 11 update named 'Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602'. It causes all my monitors to go black while I'm gaming. I managed to uninstall it yesterday and it fixed the problem, but later that night, Windows reinstalled the update despite my update settings being turned off. I didn't notice it until my monitors went black again during a game. Now when I try to uninstall the update again, it doesn't show up as an option.

Here's what I've already tried:
- Attempted to uninstall via Wusa in the CMD prompt, but it didn't work.
- Tried uninstalling in safe mode, but that also didn't help.
- I attempted to uninstall the latest feature and quality updates in WinRE, but I ran into an error saying the latest feature update couldn't be removed.
- I also went back to a previous restore point, but the update wasn't listed for uninstallation this time.

I'd really appreciate any help with this issue!

I doubt that the Defender definition update is the real cause of your issues. Those updates typically don't mess with the graphics. What kind of graphics card are you using? Maybe that’s a key detail here!

Sounds like a pretty annoying situation! If you haven’t already, check your graphics drivers too. The issues could be stemming from updates to drivers after the one you mentioned. If you recently rolled back to version 566.36 and that worked well, I’d stick with that while you sort out the Windows update problems. Keep an eye on your monitor situation; it could save you more headaches!

I had something similar where Windows kept forcing updates back on my machine. If the update is not showing in your uninstall menu, try checking for any pending updates in Windows settings. Go to the update menu and see if there’s a way to hide that update. It might stop Windows from reinstalling it automatically.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check the updates menu and see if I can hide it. I appreciate the tip!
