Hey everyone! I'm contemplating a shift from Windows to Linux and I have some questions about video editing performance with AMD vs NVIDIA graphics cards. My current setup requires Windows mainly for After Effects, but I'm eager to switch to Linux soon. A lot of people say that video editing on AMD can be tricky, while NVIDIA has some compatibility issues with their drivers. Is there truth to these statements? If I plan to build a new PC for Linux, should I go with an AMD card or stick with NVIDIA?

NVIDIA tends to have a more mature platform, especially with CUDA support, which can be crucial depending on the software you use. If you want things to just work smoothly, I'd recommend going NVIDIA. AMD might give you some headaches with video editing software, especially on Linux.

I mainly use OBS and DaVinci Resolve, and I haven't faced any gaming issues on Linux with these apps. If AMD doesn't perform well in editing, does it handle gaming fine?
