Why do all my computer mice keep stopping working?

Hey everyone! I'm reaching out on behalf of my little cousin who's been having a major issue with computer mice. It feels like every mouse he uses eventually stops responding. He doesn't damage them at all—no drops or rough handling. Here's what happens: he's usually gaming on a mousepad when the mouse just stops moving the cursor. He can still click, but the movement just stops. Sometimes switching surfaces helps, but eventually, that stops working too. This has occurred with three different mice, and he's super confused about what could be causing it. Any insights would be awesome!

It might be worth testing the mice on a different computer to see if the problem is with the mice or the USB port. If several mice fail on one machine but work fine on another, the problem could be with your computer, not the mice!

Hmm, have you checked what kind of mousepad you’re using? If three different mice are failing to respond, it might be related to the surface. Maybe it’s not interacting well with the sensors? Also, consider if the environment or surface friction could be an issue! Just a thought!

The pad is good quality, from my aunt's work! I've tried it on tables and other surfaces too, but it keeps happening.
