Why Can’t I See My SSD When Installing Windows 11?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble installing Windows 11. I get stuck at the "searching for disks" step during the installation process. After waiting a bit, I receive an error message. My SSD shows up fine in the BIOS and I can see both the SSD and the USB drive I'm using for installation when I access the terminal. I've created the USB installation media twice – once with Rufus and again with the Windows Installation Media Creator – but I still face the same problem. There's also a picture in the comments that might help clarify the situation.

I feel you! It's frustrating when things don't work as expected. Can you share your motherboard and SSD details? It might help others give better advice. You're going to want to make sure your SSD is compatible with your motherboard as well.

Sure, it's an Asrock B450m Pro4 R2.0 with a Kingston NV2 2TB (M.2).

Check the SATA controller mode in your BIOS/EFI settings. Sometimes, switching between AHCI and IDE can help your system recognize the SSD during installation. Just make sure to set a backup first, as changing BIOS settings can be risky.
