I'm diving into building my first PC and I'd love some advice on cost-saving measures, cooling methods, and how to protect my investment. I've heard the X3D chip can work well with just an air cooler, which is good to know. I'm also on the lookout for a motherboard with PCIe 5 support. How important is the audio codec? What should I focus on when choosing a motherboard? Additionally, I've read that maxing out storage can affect its lifespan and performance. Currently, I'm running around 2TB on my PS5 Pro, so I'm expecting to need at least that much or more for the PC. Here's my current parts list for reference: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/692RPJ

It really depends on the type of gaming you plan to do. The 5090 is meant for high-end 4K gaming at the highest frames per second. If you're mainly into 1440p or more casual 4K gaming, it might be overkill. Personally, I play games like Starfield in 4K with DLSS on high settings, and I get great performance around 100-125 FPS, which is perfect for me since I’m not into competitive shooters.
Good point! I'm planning to utilize a QD OLED 240Hz display, so I'm hoping for that 4K experience. I want to move from my PS5's version of 4K to true PC graphics.
I get where you're coming from. Just curious about DLSS—does it really help in getting those higher FPS rates? Don't want to settle for a lesser card and end up dropping settings.
