Hey folks! I'm new to building PCs and I'm excited to create a no-compromise gaming rig. I've always dealt with subpar prebuilt systems and gaming laptops, so I want to make this build future-proof. I'm considering the Ryzen 7 7800X3D paired with an RTX 5090 since people say it's a great combo, but I'm open to other suggestions.
For memory, I was thinking about going all out with 64GB or even 128GB of DDR5 RAM, but I've heard that too much RAM can sometimes slow things down. Can anyone explain how that works?
I'm leaning towards an AIO cooler and a PSU between 1000-1200W platinum, but I'm not sure which motherboard and other components to get. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Before we get into specifics, it's important to know what you're primarily using the PC for—are you into gaming, video editing, or something else? This affects what counts as a 'compromise.'
Actually, the 9800X3D might outperform the 7800X3D in some cases. As for the GPU, the RTX 5090 is currently the best out there. Just keep in mind that some versions can be super pricey, so check for the best deal. For RAM, go for 2 sticks of 6000 MT/s DDR5—avoid 4 sticks as they can be slower. Stick with 48GB or 64GB, which should be plenty. When it comes to coolers, it's really up to your preference. AIO coolers look cool, but some prefer tower coolers for their durability. For the PSU, a Gold-rated 1000W unit will do just fine. You don't need to splurge on a Platinum unless you're looking for the absolute best efficiency! As for the motherboard, a solid B650 should perform well without the hefty price tag of high-end models.
