I had a Lenovo Y700 laptop that unfortunately died, and now my SSD is locked via the BIOS. I still remember the original password, but I can't seem to access the drive. I've tried changing the boot order on several laptops and desktops to boot from that SSD first, but I just end up with a black screen and no option to enter the password. I've also tested the SSD on different computers, but it doesn't work. I don't care about any data on the SSD; I just want to be able to use it again. Can anyone help me with this?

Since you don’t care about the data, don’t try to boot from the SSD directly. Instead, boot the system using a Live USB. You can run tools like GParted or fdisk to wipe the drive completely. You might want to create a new partition and format it with whichever filesystem suits your needs. Alternatively, a Linux or Windows installer can handle this for you. Just make sure the SSD is connected while you use the Live USB.
I tried that, but because of the BIOS lock, my system won’t power on with the SSD connected. However, when I connect it externally via an NVMe case, it shows up in the device manager, but I can't perform any tasks on it.
