How’s the Demand for SanDisk Products in Storage and IT Right Now?

I've been noticing SanDisk in the news a lot lately with exciting new product launches, like their massive 256TB SSD. However, I'm really curious about how this translates to real-world usage. For those of you working in storage, IT procurement, or data centers, are your companies or clients actually purchasing more SanDisk products these days? Is the demand strong across all categories like SSDs, flash drives, and SD cards, or only in specific areas? Also, have you encountered any stock shortages or delays? Just looking for insight on what's genuinely trending versus what's just marketing hype.

I've had my share of bad experiences with SanDisk drives, both at home and in the office. Nowadays, I lean more towards Kioxia and Samsung instead. My last bad experience was during a rush desktop to laptop migration when COVID hit. They could have improved their quality assurance, but I'm still a bit wary of using them now.

I've been trying to RMA 35 SSDs, and it’s been a total nightmare! That's been my experience recently with their products.

Wow, that’s a lot! What happened to those SSDs?

I've seen demand for SanDisk products vary. While certain large SSDs are in demand for specific applications like AI, the average consumer seems to be cautious, particularly due to mixed reviews about reliability. Overall, I think it’s a mixed bag right now.

I've always paired SanDisk with WD - I rely on WD for mechanical drives and SanDisk for all my flash needs. I'm definitely planning to buy more of their products because they're pushing the envelope on drive capacities. While I won't be getting a 256TB drive anytime soon, I'm eyeing 8TB or 16TB drives for backup purposes.

Interesting, thanks for sharing!

SanDisk usually flies under the radar since NAND OEMs are often hidden behind companies that build the storage platforms. Although the demand for those gigantic SSDs is quite niche, there's no such thing as too big when it comes to AI and massive workloads. Just recently, I was working on a project where we needed to fast-track a deal for 61TB SSDs because the largest we had was only 30TB, and that wasn't cutting it. Now we even have access to around 120TB for some platforms!
