What’s the Best Budget GPU for Long-Term Use?

Hey everyone, I'm a software engineer in search of a budget-friendly GPU that will serve me well in the long term. I'm currently considering the RTX 3050 with 8GB, priced around 200 euros, but I've heard mixed opinions about its future performance in 2025. My usage includes coding, light gaming (like Minecraft), and occasional exploration in 3D software (like Blender). It's worth noting that I'm not a full-time gamer, but I want a reliable option as I build my system around a Ryzen 5 5600G with 16GB of RAM. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking at alternatives, a 2060 non-super actually performs better than the 3050. It’s worth considering since prices are around 50 euros more. You might find a refurbished model within your budget that would serve you better long-term.

I spotted a refurbished RTX 2060 for about 230 euros, and it’s difficult to say no at that price! What do you think?

You should also check out options like the B580 or the 9060xt if available in your area. They’re on the pricier side (around 400 euros), but they might be a solid investment considering future-proofing. Keep an eye on the VRAM as well; 8GB is already pushing it for some applications, so something with at least 12GB will last longer in terms of performance.

Thanks for the info! I could stretch my budget by about 50 euros, but I'm not looking to spend much more since I don't game heavily.

Honestly, the RTX 3050 isn't the best choice since it's considered underpowered. If you can find a used 3060 or even a 3070 for around 200-250 euros, that might be a better investment. Those cards offer significantly more performance for the price, especially if you're looking at gaming and 3D applications.

Yeah, but I'm really worried about buying used stuff. I'm not experienced with the second-hand market, and I'm afraid I'll get scammed.
