I'm working on my first PC build focused on 1440p gaming, with a budget of around $2000 (maybe a bit more). Here's what I've picked out so far: Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler, ASRock B650M Pro RS Wifi Micro ATX motherboard, 32 GB of Patriot Viper Venom DDR5-6000 CL36 RAM, a 1 TB Silicon Power UD90 M.2 SSD (planning to buy a heatsink for it), PNY OC 5070ti GPU, Thermaltake View 170 ARGB Micro ATX case, and an ASRock Phantom Gaming PG-850G 850W power supply. I've also selected the AOC Q27G4ZD 27" QD OLED Gaming Monitor, which supports QHD resolution and 240Hz refresh rates.
My main usage will be solo player games like Wukong and Oblivion Remastered, plus some competitive non-FPS games. I'm looking for feedback on my build—did I miss anything or fall into any traps as a newbie? Is 1 TB enough storage, or should I upgrade to 2 TB? And is the 5070ti excessive for 1440p gaming, especially since I'm interested in ray tracing? Any advice would be appreciated!

I recommend upgrading your RAM to CL30 at 6000MHz for better performance! Also, since storage can fill up fast, consider getting a 2 TB SSD. You definitely can't have too much storage these days. Regarding the 240Hz monitor, that might be overkill if you’re not playing a lot of FPS games, so maybe look into something with 144Hz instead for a smoother experience in all your games.
For a 1440p OLED, I'd suggest looking into monitors that offer 144Hz or 165Hz. The AOC really does have a high refresh rate but you may find good quality alternatives at those lower refresh rates. For the SSD, the Acer Predator GM7000 has a solid reputation. Do your research on those options!
Thanks for the SSD recommendation! I’ll check that out. What do you think about cooling for the SSD?
It's good that you’re considering storage. The UD90 uses QLC flash, which is less durable and can slow down over time, so I’d suggest switching to a TLC drive instead, like the Kioxia Exceria Plus or WD Blue SN580. Also, if you can swing it, start with 2 TB storage to prevent running out of space too quickly.
Thanks for the tips about the RAM and monitor refresh rate! Any specific 144Hz models you recommend?
