I've noticed that my laptop tends to slow down significantly if I don't restart it every few days. For some context, here are the specs: it has a 13th Gen Intel i5-1335U processor (1.30 GHz), 16 GB of RAM, and runs a 64-bit operating system. Most of the time, I'm just using Chrome and Notepad. Even when I check Task Manager, I don't see any runaway processes. It's frustrating because I can't even stream YouTube without it buffering. Offline videos are just as slow, so I'm sure it's not a network issue. I suspect it's related to all the bloatware from Microsoft and Chrome, but is there a way to manage that without ditching them?

It sounds like your CPU might be throttling down to 1.3 GHz due to overheating. This can happen if the laptop gets too warm, especially if you’re using it on soft surfaces like a bed which might block ventilation. It could also be a setting in your BIOS that limits the clock speed. You might want to try using it on a hard surface or invest in a cooling pad.
It's actually normal for computers to need a restart every now and then, but a few days sounds excessive. Have you tried clearing out any unnecessary programs or browser extensions? Sometimes bloatware can really slow things down, especially if you're not using them. A good cleanup might help give you some extra speed without losing your favorite tools!
Clearing out old programs definitely sounds like a smart idea. Thanks for the suggestion!
Yeah, same here! I realized my laptop gets super hot when I use it on my couch. Better airflow might help a lot!
