What’s the best way to upgrade my old PC on a budget?

I'm really struggling with my outdated PC and I'm ready to upgrade, but my budget is tight. I have about $150 to spend right now. My current specs are pretty old: an i3 2100 processor, no dedicated graphics card, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 200W power supply, and a 1TB laptop hard drive. Should I wait and save more money to tackle multiple component upgrades like the motherboard, or is there something effective I can do now, like upgrading the PSU and getting a GPU? What do you think?

If I were you, I'd save up some more cash. There’s really not a lot you can do with a 2012 PC. Maybe consider getting a refurbished system for about $400—like a Dell Optiplex with a decent graphics card to handle games at lower settings.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother upgrading anything on your current setup. It's pretty outdated, and it might be better to save up for a whole new build instead of piecemeal upgrades.

But what if I just get a better PSU and a cheap GPU to at least play some modern games?

Honestly, with a setup like yours, it's not really worth upgrading anything significant. Maybe a small SSD could help with speed, and if you're really determined, consider grabbing an old graphics card to see if it fits your needs. But overall, saving for a complete rebuild is the way to go easily.

I'll think about it! Thanks for the advice!
