I recently finished building my PC, but I'm having an issue where the DRAM light on my motherboard stays on. I'm using a Gigabyte Aorus Elite B850. Initially, I suspected my RAM might be incompatible, so I went to Micro Center and swapped it for a model that's listed as compatible. However, the red DRAM light is still on. I even considered that it might be a faulty motherboard, so I returned it and got another Gigabyte Aorus Elite. I reinstalled everything, but the DRAM light remains lit. The RGB on the RAM is functioning, so it seems like there's power to the RAM slots. I'm really stuck here and could use some advice!

The diagnostic lights can be misleading sometimes. Have you checked if your CPU might be dead? If you have spare parts, swapping them out could help narrow down the issue. As for the RAM compatibility, many lists don’t get updated frequently, so as long as it fits in the slots and you have the latest BIOS, it should generally work. Good luck!
Have you tried booting with just one stick of RAM at a time? It’s worth trying to see if one might be faulty. Also, make sure your CPU is seated correctly—check for any bent pins or if it’s crooked in the socket. Finally, double-check all power connections to the motherboard, both on the PSU and the board itself.
I haven't tried just one stick yet, but I just read about that. I think the CPU is seated right; everything looked lined up well.
I don't have another CPU to test with. It's a brand new 7800X3D, and I know DOA sometimes happens, but it sounds pretty rare.
