Feeling Stuck in JavaScript After Quitting My Job – Need Tips and Support

I recently quit my job to dive into a six-month programming course where I'm self-learning alongside weekly mentor reviews. I started this journey with no IT background, and I'm now three months in. I'm really struggling with JavaScript - during my first review, things went okay, but I froze during the second and couldn't tackle the task or explain my code. I often find it hard to remember theory, and it's disheartening to see my classmates move ahead more quickly.

I'm putting in a lot of effort but not seeing the results I hoped for, which is making me doubt if this career path is right for me. For anyone else who started from scratch in tech, how did you manage to get through tough phases like this? What advice do you have for boosting both my logical skills and practical understanding? How can I learn faster and retain the information better?

It's completely normal to freeze up during interviews, especially when you're still new to JavaScript. The more you practice solving problems, the easier it will become. Remember, interviews themselves are a skill that requires practice too! Don't let your early setbacks discourage you; they can actually help you improve in the long run.

I totally agree! It takes time to build up that confidence. Just keep practicing and you'll find it gets easier.
