I'm new to building PCs and I want to ensure that the components I'm picking are compatible and reasonably priced. Here's my current build list:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 4.4 GHz 12-Core Processor
- **CPU Cooler**: Asus ROG STRIX LC III ARGB Liquid CPU Cooler
- **Motherboard**: Asus ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
- **Memory**: Crucial Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400 CL38
- **Storage**: Crucial P3 Plus 2 TB M.2 NVME SSD
- **Video Card**: Asus TUF GAMING OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB
- **Case**: Asus TUF Gaming GT502 ATX Mid Tower
- **Power Supply**: Asus TUF Gaming 1000G 1000 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular
I'm especially interested in any part suggestions that might work better or be less expensive. Also, I'm not looking at peripherals right now, but any monitor recommendations would be appreciated too. Lastly, I really like the glass case I picked, so if there are better alternatives that still offer that element, I'd love to hear about them!

You might want to think about your overall budget; I see you're aiming for around 4K. The current build seems overspecced and can easily lead to overspending without adding real performance gains. Look out for cheaper options in GPUs, especially in the 5070 Ti range. If you can lower the PSU wattage or swap out some pricey ASUS components for more budget-friendly options, you could save a good amount!
First, could you clarify what you’ll mainly use this PC for? It looks like a gaming build, but placing the 9900X in a gaming scenario isn't ideal since it doesn’t provide better performance for that purpose. You might actually want to consider the 9800X3D for better value if you trim down some of the components. Also, your cooler seems over-the-top, and the PSU capacity is more than you actually need for this setup. As for RAM, target DDR5-6000 CL30 instead, as it delivers better performance on Ryzen 9000 series.
That makes sense! I appreciate the advice. Are there specific brands you'd recommend as alternatives for the ASUS parts?
Great tips! I’ll look into cheaper graphics card options. Thanks!
