Hey everyone, I've got a defective Intel 13900K that's becoming increasingly unstable. I bought it from Best Buy, and I'm thinking about going for an RMA. Ideally, I'd love to switch to AMD completely. I've heard of people getting full refunds instead of replacements. Is there anything I can do to encourage them to give me a refund rather than having to deal with a replacement? If I do get a refund, I'd only lose the money spent on a new motherboard, since my RAM is already compatible with AMD.

Switching to AMD sounds like a solid plan. You could just focus on the advantages of AMD for what you want to do and explain that to them during the RMA process.
If you get the refund, check out Microcenter—they’ve got the 12900K on sale for $269. It might not be as powerful, but it's still a great option for gaming if you want to stick with your current setup.
If you’re looking to switch to AMD, I say go for the refund! Just be straightforward about your situation and mention your preference for a refund. Sometimes just being honest helps.
But how do you actually convince them to go that route? If they keep offering replacements, I’d rather not jump through hoops.
