What’s the best budget GPU for gaming and astrophotography?

I'm looking to replace my current laptop with a desktop, but I don't know much about GPUs. I edit and stack astrophotography and want to comfortably play games like Stellaris and Sea of Thieves without needing to upgrade anything (GPU, CPU, PSU, monitor, or motherboard) for the next five years. My budget for a GPU is max $300. Here's my current build:

- Motherboard: B850M GAMING X WIFI6E - $160
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-core - $170
- GPU: $300 (currently undecided)
- Storage: Patriot P300 256GB SSD - $25
- RAM: Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 16GB 5600 - $50
- Case: MONTECH X5M - $60
- PSU: CORSAIR CX650M 650w/750w - $75-$85
- CPU Cooler: Darkrock PX4 - $20
- Fans: Misc (6 x 120mm) - $30
- Monitor: Acer Nitro XV240Y - $120
- Keyboard: Razer Ornata V3 X Wired Membrane - $40

Is this a good build? Any suggestions for a better GPU or changes I should consider? How do integrated GPUs stack up?

You might want to look at the Intel Arc B580, it's getting some decent reviews. Check out this Reddit link for more info: [Intel Arc B580](https://www.reddit.com/r/IntelArc/comments/1kfbxat/the_intel_arc_b580_is_better_than_you_think/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). Hope it helps!

If you have access to a Micro Center, check if they have any deals on CPU bundles! Newegg also has a combo builder that can help find some good offers.

In general, strong GPUs are crucial for gaming performance. For a gaming-centric PC, I suggest allocating about half your budget for the GPU. An $800 PC with a solid $400 graphics card will generally outperform a $1,500 build with a mediocre $300 card. Keep in mind that a good GPU also helps when selling the PC down the line. It might be good to consider AMD for graphics since they focus more on gaming, while Nvidia's technologies like CUDA and NVENC are super powerful for video editing and streaming.

Definitely consider pushing for the 9060 XT if you can manage it, it's worth the investment!

I'd recommend looking into the RTX 5060 for your budget, but if you can stretch a little, go for the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB. The 5060 is somewhat limited with its 8GB VRAM and might struggle with upcoming games over the next few years.
