My PC Won’t Boot – Just a Black Screen After Resetting CMOS and RAM

I recently installed a new C drive, but now my PC only boots to a black screen. I tried restarting it, but the black screen persists. When I restart without the drive, I can access the BIOS, but if I restart with a new arrangement of the RAM, it won't boot at all. I even attempted a CMOS reset, but that didn't help either. I've also unplugged everything and reset the CMOS again, but I'm still getting no boot. Any ideas?

Have you tried jumping the power pins on the motherboard directly? Sometimes the power button does not make a connection, which can prevent booting. Also, check if your motherboard has any diagnostic lights or beeping codes when you try to power it on. That could give you more insight into what's going wrong.

It sounds like a frustrating situation! Try removing everything from the case and setting the motherboard on an anti-static bag or a flat surface. Make sure the memory is seated correctly and that the CPU and cooler are plugged in properly. Connect the power supply and attempt to start the PC using either the button on the motherboard or by jumping the power pins. If your motherboard has diagnostic lights or beeps, pay attention to those—they can indicate what the issue might be. You'll need that information to diagnose further.
