Hey everyone! I've been trying to watch videos from my hard drive on my TV, but some of the .mp4 files just won't play. They work fine on my computer, but my TV says "File is invalid." After some searching, I figured it might be a codec issue. I tried using HandBrake to convert one of the files, and it worked! I noticed that the playable and non-playable files look pretty similar when I check their properties, but I'm not really an expert in this area. I enabled options like "Webb Optimized" and set the audio sample rate to 44.1 in HandBrake, but it still takes a long time to process each video—around 15 minutes, and I've got 24 videos to recode. Does anyone know a quicker way to get these files converted, or can you shed light on what the actual codec issues might be? Cheers!

It sounds like your TV might be picky about codecs! You should definitely check the codecs of the files that won’t play. A good way to do this is by using VLC media player. Just open the problematic file in VLC, go to "Tools" and then "Codec Information"—this will give you the details you need.
I checked two files side by side in VLC, and the only real difference I saw was in the audio sample rate. The one that played also had more color information. Any insights on whether that could be the issue?
