Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind. I set up an email forwarding service for my mother-in-law with a domain I registered years ago ([email protected]). It forwards to her Gmail ([email protected]), and she's been using that domain as her 'from' address without any issues—until recently. She's trying to email someone on Yahoo, but it's bouncing back with a message saying her email isn't authenticated. The error specifically states: `550 5.7.9 This mail has been blocked because the sender is unauthenticated...` I checked the SPF record, which includes Google's SPF, but it seems something's still not working. The DMARC record is set to `v=DMARC1; p=none`. Can anyone explain what's going wrong? Any help or advice would be really appreciated!

It sounds like the issue stems from the difference between the 'from' address and the sending server. Essentially, Yahoo requires alignment, meaning the 'from' domain (personaldomain.co.uk) needs to match the sending server's SPF. In this case, since Gmail is sending the email, it'll most likely fail SPF alignment because it shows a different domain. To fix this, look into using an SMTP service that can sign your emails with your domain, like Mailcast.io or similar services. That should resolve the authentication problem.
Check the Squarespace forums for a similar issue—they've noted some ongoing discussions there regarding SPF problems when sending from Gmail to Yahoo. However, since you're not even using Squarespace, it could point to a recent change on Yahoo’s end that's causing these bounces. It's best to keep an eye on those discussions to see if anyone finds a solid solution.
