I've been working as a trainee for over two years, primarily doing 1st and 2nd line support and some Powershell scripting to manage users and Active Directory. Recently, my company announced layoffs, and while nothing is certain yet, I might be at risk. We're managed by an MSP which limits my learning opportunities, and I often feel behind on the essential skills that I see discussed online. I have some COMPTIA courses planned, but I'm worried about how prepared I am if I need to find a new job. Any advice?

Yeah, I've made backup plans too! I'm in touch with a solid recruiter who helped me land my current role. It's a smart move to establish connections before you need them.
Don't stress too much about not knowing every detail in the sysadmin space. It's huge, and no one knows everything. Your experience will still carry weight.
With your background in Active Directory and Powershell, you should be in a strong position to qualify for similar or even better roles in the IT industry.
Honestly, you should consider jumping ship before you're pushed out. I did that years ago and it turned out to be the best decision for my career.
It's a good idea to start looking for another job now. If you find one that matches or exceeds your current position, go for it, even if your job doesn't get eliminated. Being proactive will put you in a better position if you end up facing redundancy.
Having a good recruiter can really make a difference. I had a similar experience and it paid off!
