I'm a bit new to Azure and trying to wrap my head around the differences and functionalities of Entra ID, Entra Admin Center, and the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. I know I can add users in both Entra ID and Entra Admin Center, but I'm confused about what I can do specifically with the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Could someone explain the similarities, differences, and the key features of each?

To break it down: Entra itself is the overall product. Entra ID focuses specifically on identity management within that umbrella. Then you have the Entra Admin Center as the updated portal (accessible via entra.microsoft.com) and finally the Microsoft 365 Admin Center which is your go-to for M365 management tasks. They share many features, but they don’t have exact feature parity. For instance, you can't handle app registrations in the M365 Admin Center, but you can in Entra ID.

The Microsoft 365 Admin Center primarily acts as a gateway to various admin sections. You can handle billing, manage domains for your tenant, and change some global settings there. You can also reset user passwords. Entra ID tends to be an older method, and Microsoft seems to be pushing users to the more modern Entra Admin Center for identity management, which offers a similar function but with a fresh look.

It can be tricky to differentiate because of overlapping functions. For example, M365 Admin Center lets you manage licenses and billing but doesn't provide device info or features like Conditional Access. Entra ID is pretty much the older portal now, and you won’t need it as much. The more you tinker with these tools, the clearer things will become! Just be aware that Microsoft's offerings can change over time.

Entra ID is kind of a basic overview tool, while the Entra Admin Center dives deeper into the specifics of your identity management. As for the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, I don't often use it since my focus is on the Entra side.
