I've been using my Ryzen 5 3600 for a few years now, and it's starting to struggle with some games like Battlefield 6. My GPU (a 3070) isn't being fully utilized, so I'm considering an upgrade. I know the 5800X3D is highly recommended, but it's quite pricey. I'm looking for suggestions on more affordable options that still offer solid performance improvements.

It really seems like the 5700 or the 5700X3D are solid picks for your upgrade. If those don't fit, you might need to think about a complete new build.
What’s your budget looking like? That could definitely help narrow down suggestions.
Around $500 seems reasonable. You might want to consider the 5800X3D with that budget.
If I were in your shoes, I'd recommend checking out a used 5700X for the best bang for your buck. If budget isn't an issue, then go for the 5700X3D or the 5800X3D. I've had great experiences with both!
I upgraded from the same setup as you to a 5700X3D and it's fantastic. I would have chosen the 5800X3D if the prices hadn't shot up.

I don't really have a strict budget, just aiming for the best value. I'm worried that if I don't upgrade enough, I won't see a noticeable difference.
