Is it worth buying a used 6800XT for $300?

I'm currently looking to upgrade from my 6750XT and I found a used 6800XT on marketplace for $300. The seller lives nearby and has shared pictures of it running in his PC, along with the original box. His profile is a bit blank, lacking a profile pic and posts, but that could mean he just made this account for selling. The post claims he got a new graphics card and wants to sell this one. The price seems really good, maybe too good to be true. I'm thinking of asking him to test the GPU before committing to the purchase. What do you all think?

I've seen 6800XTs go for prices ranging from $350 CAD to over $500, so $300 USD is a pretty sweet deal. It sounds like the seller just wants to offload it and avoid the hassle of dealing with pushy buyers. I'd suggest asking for a quick video test while running a game or something like Furmark to ease your mind before buying.

$300 seems like a fair price considering how prices have been lately. Last year, anything below $450 felt sketchy. If you’re thinking of selling your 6750XT afterward, just do some homework on what others are listing for!

$300 sounds like a solid deal—definitely not out of the question! Since the seller is local, you could ask him if it's cool to run a simple benchmark to see how it performs while checking the temps. If this is on Facebook Marketplace, I get the lack of a profile pic; not everyone wants to put their info out there. Just be sure to test it out, trust your instincts!

Fair point! Testing it first is always a smart move. 😀

Honestly, if you can get a 6800XT for that price, it's hard to pass up. The MSRP was around $650 when it launched. Just keep in mind that with newer models like the 9060XT 16GB coming out, the older AMD cards might lose some value, though they still perform well. If the features of the newer ones don't matter much to you, this could be a solid buy!
