Will I Notice a Performance Drop Using an RX 9060XT on PCIe 4.0?

Hey folks! I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from a GTX 1660 Super to an RX 9060XT with 16GB. While the RX 9060XT supports PCIe 5.0, my MSI B660M-P DDR4 motherboard only has PCIe 4.0. Here are my specs: CPU is an Intel i5-12400F, 16GB of 3200 RAM, and my monitor runs at 1080p with a 180Hz refresh rate. I'm using a new Cooler Master G Gold 750 V2 PSU. My main question is: how much performance should I expect to lose by running this GPU on PCIe 4.0 instead of PCIe 5.0? Will this create any noticeable bottleneck in my setup, especially since I'm aiming for high FPS on a 180Hz monitor? I would really appreciate any insights!

In normal scenarios, you won't notice much impact at all. Depending on the games or workflows, it could be under 5%, and even with older PCIe 3.0 x16, the drop might be under 10%. You're completely good with PCIe 4.0!

Honestly, you should expect pretty much no performance loss. The RX 9060XT performs just fine on PCIe 4.0, and the difference in real-world FPS compared to PCIe 5.0 is almost negligible, especially at 1080p with your 180Hz setup. You'll hit limits with your GPU and CPU performance before PCIe bandwidth becomes a bottleneck, so no need to stress about it!

For the 16GB RX 9060XT, the performance difference running on PCIe 4.0 is incredibly small. Some tests show it's around 1-3% at most. The card won’t even saturate the PCIe lanes on 4.0, let alone 5.0. So, you're going to be just fine!
