I upgraded from a 4790k to a 7800x3D and ran into display problems. Initially, I had no display at all, not even BIOS access. After checking the parts under warranty, I was able to get into the BIOS and boot into Windows, but I'm now facing black screens after BIOS - there's just no output. I'm using a 4070Ti with one monitor connected via DisplayPort and the other using a DVI to DP adapter. Swapping the ports didn't help. I can confirm that my old setup with the 4790k works perfectly. The only BIOS change I made was setting the RAM from the default 4800MHz to 6000MHz, but that didn't affect the issue. I've tried various RAM configurations with no luck, including running one stick in different slots. I also switched from DP to HDMI, and now there's no BIOS splash at all. Anyone have insights on what could be wrong or how to diagnose this further?

Have you tried booting from a USB stick with Linux? If you can get that to display, it might point to Windows issues, which means a reinstall or fixing a driver might be your solution. Just make sure you can actually boot into BIOS consistently first.
Just a thought, but if you're getting a solid underscore on the screen after resetting the BIOS, it could suggest it's not progressing past the boot process. Have you ensured all your connections are snug? Double-checking power and data cables might give you a clue.
When I upgraded to my 7800x3D, I faced similar issues. It worked for me by installing just one stick of RAM and then adding the second one afterward. Maybe give that a go? Sometimes resetting the BIOS to defaults can also clear out any issues.
