How do I uninstall Bonjour from my Windows PC when I don’t have any Apple products?

I'm puzzled by why Bonjour, which is an Apple software, is installed on my Windows machine. I don't own any Apple products or use any of their services, yet I noticed Bonjour appeared in my list of installed apps today. When I tried to uninstall it, the process seemed more like an installation rather than a removal, asking me to close Firefox and let it make changes to my device. That doesn't feel right to me. Can someone explain how I can properly uninstall Bonjour without any Apple products on my system?

Bonjour can install itself through other software, like printer drivers or media codecs, even if you don’t own any Apple devices. It’s generally harmless, but if you want it gone, you should be able to uninstall it directly from your control panel or use Revo Uninstaller for a cleaner removal. Just follow the prompts, and don't worry if it looks like it's installing—it’s just the uninstaller running.

Exactly! Before I had any Apple products, I found Bonjour linked to my Canon or Brother printer drivers.

True! Some network admins actually prefer it because it simplifies adding network printers and handling duplicate printer models.

You're right! Bonjour is used by various software, not just Apple's. Adobe and printer software often have it included. When you uninstall via Windows settings, it’s going to seem like it's installing because it’s running the setup for removal. If Firefox was open, that's why it asked you to close it. To remove it completely, try downloading Geek Uninstaller, run it as Administrator, and you can click on Bonjour to remove it from your system easily.

Just a heads up—when you uninstall it, Windows might run an installer because it's part of how the uninstallation is handled. You're still making changes to your system, which is what the prompts are about. Have you tried looking it up online? You might find some useful guides.

Oh, that makes sense! I bet it's using the installer to kick off the uninstall process! You could also manually delete its files if you're comfortable doing that.

Bonjour is Apple's implementation of mDNS, which is basically used for device discovery in networks. It’s common to see it linked with printers. A driver you installed must have added it, but it's all pretty standard. If you googled it, you’d likely find that it’s not just for Apple products.
