I'm contemplating whether to upgrade my existing PC or just buy a new one, though I really lean towards upgrading if possible. I'm interested in enhancing my gaming experience, especially for 1440p gaming. Currently, I have a few questions: Can I switch from my Nvidia GPU to an AMD 9070xt? Is it worth upgrading my processor? Also, I'd prefer not to have to replace my power supply unit (PSU) for these upgrades. Here are my current specs: Intel Core i5 12400F (12th Gen), Corsair RM750x PSU, WD Black SN850 1TB SSD, ASUS PRIME B660M-A D4 motherboard, Nvidia 3060ti, and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32GB RAM (I upgraded from 16GB). I mostly play FPS games like Battlefield and COD, but I also enjoy single-player titles like Doom and Spider-Man. Any suggestions on what upgrades would be best?

You could definitely upgrade to a higher tier 12th-gen CPU with a BIOS update on your motherboard. It's compatible with some newer processors too, like 13th and 14th-gen ones, but I've heard those can be a bit unreliable, so I wouldn't go that route just yet. I recommend upgrading your GPU instead and maybe planning for a full system upgrade in a few years when better options come out. Spending around $300 for a marginal performance increase isn't really worth it. Your PSU should handle a new GPU just fine!

Thank you! What GPU do you think would be ideal?
