I built my first gaming PC during the pandemic and it cost me around $4200, featuring an EVGA 3090 FTW GPU, an AMD 5900X CPU, an Asus Dark Hero motherboard, and two Seagate FireCuda 2TB drives. I bought everything at retail price since it was all I could get my hands on. Now, I'm curious what my budget should look like for a new build where I'm not just saving but also not overspending. I'm looking for advice on the cost of new components that can compete effectively today.

If you're looking for a solid upgrade without breaking the bank, consider going for a 5070 Ti with a 9800X3D CPU, 64GB of good RAM, and a decent NVMe SSD. With DLSS being so advanced now, even gaming at 4K will feel great with that setup. You don't necessarily need to spend a fortune to get a fantastic performance boost!

If I build, I'll be passing my current setup to my sister. Any recommendations for a motherboard to pair with the 9800X3D?
