I built my gaming PC back in 2019 and recently upgraded to an RTX 5070 Ti. While this is a great improvement, I've noticed that my performance in games like Cyberpunk, The Last of Us, and Battlefield 2042 isn't quite hitting the mark—especially in the BF6 beta, where I'm feeling major bottlenecks. My current setup is an i7 9700k running at 5 GHz, with a Corsair H100i cooler, an Asus Prime Z390-A motherboard, 32GB of Corsair DDR4 3200MHz RAM, and an 850W PSU. I'm considering a CPU update to something that can keep up with my new graphics card, and I'm looking at a few options on Amazon: the i7 12700k for $220, the i7 13700k for $388, and the i7 13700kf for $300. I'm also open to AMD CPUs, though I don't have much experience with them. Additionally, I'm thinking about getting a Noctua CPU cooler. Could you share your thoughts on a dream build that would pair well with an RTX 5070 Ti and a Lian Li Lancool 207 case? Thanks!

If I were you, I’d definitely grab a new motherboard and RAM along with an AMD CPU, like either the Ryzen 7 7800 or the 9800X3D, depending on your budget. For the motherboard, I'd recommend going for a B650 or B850 chipset for great compatibility.
If you're willing to spend $388 on the 13700k, I think the 7800X3D from AMD would be the better choice for gaming. The 13700k holds its own for productivity, but if gaming is your main focus, go for the 7800X3D, which is priced around $376. You'll be pleased with the performance!
How do you think the 7600X compares to the 7800X3D for gaming?
