Upgrading My GPU to a 9070XT: Should I Upgrade My CPU Too?

I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 along with a 2070 for my flight sim setup (MSFS 2020, 2024, and XP12), and I run a 1440p ultra-wide monitor alongside a 1080p second monitor. I'm looking to upgrade to a GPU with more VRAM, ideally the 9070XT, but I'm concerned that my 3600 might hold things back. Would it be advisable to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X or 5800X3D to pair with the 9070XT, without jumping to the AM5 platform? The price difference is quite notable (£200 for the X3D compared to £110 for the X), and I'm not sure if the performance boost of the X3D justifies the cost.

If you're on an AM4 CPU and motherboard, it might be worth saving your cash for a future upgrade. While the performance jump might not be huge by sticking to AM4, aiming for an AM5 setup with a solid 8-core CPU, DDR5 RAM, and a new motherboard could be a smarter move in the long run.

Yeah, I can see the value in waiting. Just trying to maximize what I can get from the 9070 right now. Plus, I've heard frame generation through lossless scaling might help with that.
