Why isn’t my PC recognizing certain USB devices?

Hey everyone! I'm having a frustrating issue with my PC. Whenever I try to connect a device using a USB cable, it makes the sound that indicates a device is connected, but nothing shows up on the screen. I can connect a USB flash drive without any problems, so I don't think it's the USB ports themselves. I've tried following several tutorials on YouTube, but none of them have fixed the problem. Any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks in advance!

When you connect the device, check Device Manager. If there's a yellow exclamation mark next to it, that could be a sign there's a driver issue. Right-click and check the properties for any error codes. But if everything looks normal and there's no exclamation mark, the PC should recognize it, so it might be something specific with the device.

I don't see any exclamation mark. I've looked there following a tutorial, and everything appears to be working fine on that end.

What device are you trying to connect? Sometimes, specific devices, like smartphones, need a special driver to be properly recognized by your PC. So, if it’s your phone or something else, make sure the necessary drivers are installed!

I'm trying to connect my Android phone, and I've also tried connecting other devices like my MP3 player. None of them are being recognized.
