I've recently built a new PC with an Intel 11600K CPU, and I'm experiencing some concerning overheating issues. Even when the CPU isn't pushed to 100% usage, and is clocked at 4600MHz, the temperatures shoot up to 100°C in just seconds. This problem is surprising to me because my previous setup with an older Intel 4670K never had any heating issues, even under full load. My current setup features a better cooler and six case fans, yet it seems like I'm still struggling with high temps. Is this unusual for newer generations of CPUs?

The Noctua NH-L9x65 is a solid cooler, but if you're still hitting those high temps, it might not be enough for the 11600K, especially during gaming. Have you tried reapplying thermal paste? I’ve heard Arctic MX4 can be effective, but sometimes the cooler just doesn’t cut it. Also, keep an eye on your case airflow; it sounds like your GPU is fine, but how's the air circulation in general? It might help to add more case fans if you can.
Intel has been pushing the limits of power consumption with their CPUs, especially in recent generations. The high temps you're seeing could indeed suggest either a cooler that’s not suitable for this CPU or possibly a poor mounting job. It’s worth checking if the cooler is properly seated. What cooler are you currently using?
