Is My First PC Build Solid for 3D Modeling?

Hey everyone! I'm just getting started with building my own PC primarily for 3D modeling and rendering. I'm comfortable with 16GB of RAM, but I'm really confused about choosing the right case size. Should I go with a Micro ATX Mid Tower, ATX Mid Tower, or Micro ATX Mini Tower? My budget is between $800 and $900 USD, and I've put together a list of parts. Would love to hear your thoughts on my build!

Your build looks good, but remember that the CPU already comes with a fan, so you probably don’t need to buy a separate one. Also, using one stick of 16GB RAM can save you money now and let you add another later without issues. Just check that case; it might only have one fan, so think about adding another for better airflow. Smaller cases are great for portability but can limit your parts choice, so mid-tower or micro ATX are great budget-friendly options!

Is it okay if I still buy a fan for the back of the case? I'm still undecided about which case to choose, but thanks for your input!

Any case size will work! If you choose an ATX case, it'll support any motherboard size if you later decide to upgrade. Overall, this looks like a solid start for your budget! Just a heads-up, consider upgrading your RAM in the future if you plan to work with larger files—it could bottleneck you otherwise.

Thank you! I'll definitely keep that RAM upgrade in mind.

You probably don’t need a 750W PSU for this build. By the way, the price for that 3060 is quite steep since it’s an older model. You might want to look into something like the 9060XT if gaming is a focus, but it can be pricier. For modeling, an Nvidia card is typically better. Watch some reviews on cases to see which size fits best with your motherboard. I’d recommend going with a slightly bigger case for future upgrades.

I’m using Blender and Maya for my 3D work, so I appreciate the advice!
