I'm stuck with just a Chromebook because my parents won't let me get any other type of computer, but I'm really interested in burning some CDs. Is there a way to do this on a Chromebook, or do I need a different computer? Are there any alternative methods for burning CDs?

Burning CDs feels a bit old-school nowadays, right? But if you want to stick with CDs because of your car or personal preference, you might be out of luck just with the Chromebook alone. Besides a CD writer connected via USB, you'll need to set your Chromebook in Developer Mode to run Linux. There are plenty of tutorials online that can help you with that setup!

I totally hear you! I actually still use my 1997 Lexus too, and the CD player is all I've got right now. CDs are just more convenient for me.

Unfortunately, Chromebooks don't have built-in support for burning CDs due to their simplified operating system. You might want to consider installing Linux on your Chromebook, which could allow you to burn CDs, but it can be a bit complicated to set up. Just keep in mind that you'll need a USB CD burner as well!

If you don't have access to your own CD burner, why not check out your local library? Many libraries still have computers with CD burners available. You can bring your music files on a USB drive and an empty CD to use there. That's how we used to burn CDs back in the day!
