I'm a DevOps engineer at a telecommunications company in the US, and it looks like we're stuck with our VPN solution. We've been using CISCO for years, but now they're facing some licensing issues, and it's not looking good for the future. Before I joined the team, the previous engineering manager suggested switching to Nordlayer, even drafted a plan, and got everyone on board. But then he left the company, and now it's just me and a new manager. I've been hearing that the proof of concept (POC) for Nordlayer was set up in our AWS environment by the former manager, but upon checking, I found nothing there. Management is putting pressure on us to get this connection between our data center and AWS up and running using Nordlayer, but there's no documentation left, and Nordlayer support can't help since it was a POC setup without any records. I'm really at a loss here and feeling the heat since I'm in charge of AWS. Has anyone dealt with reviving a project that seems to be lifeless? What should I do?

Have you tried reaching out to your former boss on LinkedIn to ask if they know where the POC documentation is? They might have more insight or could point you in the right direction.
Honestly, I would suggest starting fresh. It might be a good idea to look for a different VPN solution that fits your requirements. There are many good options out there, and it could save you a lot of headaches in the long run.
If you really can't get any info from Nordlayer or previous employees, you might just have to move on and find a better VPN solution. Sometimes it’s easier to start over than to fix something that was never fully set up in the first place.
Have you checked if Nordlayer has a dedicated Solutions Engineer? If they helped set up the POC originally, they might be able to give you the details you need. It might be worth pushing your Nordlayer account manager to get more support from them, since it's in their interest to help you out as well.
I was in the email thread about the POC, and there's one engineer from Nordlayer who says they don't have any documentation. I might need to dig deeper on this.
