Hey everyone! I'm trying to upgrade my Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro, but I keep running into problems. I've tried using the generic Windows 11 Pro key (VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T) and a couple of others. I've also experimented with some commands in CMD and even tried using MAS, but nothing seems to work. The key I have is genuine, bought directly from Microsoft. I did get a key from Electronic First, but I'm skeptical about its trustworthiness since it was so cheap. Every time I attempt the upgrade, it starts loading but fails at 10%, showing error code 0xc004f050 with a message that says the product key isn't valid and suggests I buy a genuine Windows. I even tested the key from Electronic First on a VM, and it claimed it was already in use elsewhere, which makes me think it might be fake or stolen. I regret trying to save money with that $5 key. Anyone have suggestions?

You might want to try using CMD as an admin and type in `slmgr /upk`. After that's done, disable your Internet, then enter the default Pro product key (like 36VVT), all without being connected to the Internet. After you input the key, re-enable your connection and use your actual product key to activate. That might do the trick!
Honestly, it sounds like the key from Electronic First is likely a grey market key. Those can be sold to multiple people, so if you wait too long to use it, it might not work. I get that you're trying to upgrade, but relying on those types of keys can be risky. If you’re not into stealing Windows, maybe check for a more legitimate source for a key.
Yeah, I figured as much. I just want to figure out a way to upgrade, even if it’s not activated.
I still get the same error code when I try that.
