How Can I Transfer My Linux Mint Setup to a New SSD?

I'm using Linux Mint on a Thinkpad T420 and just got a new SSD. I've customized Mint to my liking and want to know the best way to move everything over to the new drive. Is it possible to back up my system and restore it on the new SSD? If so, how do I do that? Can I just store the backup on a USB and install it like I did originally?

A good option for this would be Clonezilla. If you have both drives ready, you can run Clonezilla to clone the old SSD directly to the new one. It’s pretty straightforward if you follow the prompts! Another great option is to create an image of your current drive and then spill that image onto the new SSD.
