I'm wondering if I need to upgrade my RTX 3060 for newer games. I usually play at 1080p and my monitor supports up to 165Hz. I want to keep my expenses reasonable, so my budget is around $400. What are your thoughts on upgrading?

Your 3060 is still a strong card, and so are the older 20-series GPUs. If you’re not feeling any performance drops, I don’t see a reason to upgrade just yet!

If you're okay with lowering your settings a bit, the 3060 can still keep up with gaming. It’s all about what you're comfortable with!

Honestly, it comes down to what you find acceptable. If your 3060 gives you the performance you need, there’s no rush to upgrade. But if you're considering new cards in your price range, options like the 9060 XT or 5060 Ti could also be worth checking out. Just do some comparisons on YouTube to see which fits your needs best!

That's helpful advice! I can run most games like Elden Ring at max, so maybe I'm good for now.

You can actually find used RTX 3080 cards for around that budget, and they perform really well at 1080p. Just keep in mind they can struggle at higher resolutions due to VRAM limitations.

It really depends on the specific games you're interested in and the settings you want to play at. If you're okay with the performance you're currently getting from your 3060, it might last you a while. However, if you want to keep up with the latest titles and play them at higher settings, you may want to consider an upgrade every couple of years—something in the Nvidia XX70 Ti range could be a good choice.

That's a solid point! I'm curious though, what newer games would you recommend looking out for? I want to be prepared!
