I'm trying to figure out if I can successfully run Linux on my HP EliteBook 840 G6. I've been getting a bunch of ACPI BIOS errors, and I'm not sure if it's a major issue or just something minor. Here are some of the error messages I've encountered: ACPI BIOS Error (bug): AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT, and also others related to ACPI methods failing. I've looked into it a bit, and while I'm seeing some problems that might relate to slow performance, I'm concerned about these errors preventing me from using Linux altogether. Anyone else had success with this model?

ACPI errors from BIOS often happen due to the firmware of the motherboard, and they usually can be ignored. Most times, they don’t affect the overall functionality of your system. If you’re experiencing slow performance, it might correlate more with your specific setup or hardware rather than those ACPI messages. I'd recommend checking for any updates to your BIOS and drivers for better compatibility with Linux.
You've got a couple of interesting error messages like the ones related to i915, but these may not be the root cause of your issues. While ACPI errors can be annoying, they often don't impact regular usage unless they're directly affecting your hardware. My advice would be to focus on overall system performance and see if those specific error messages lead to any noticeable issues while using Linux.
Thanks for the insight! I appreciate it. I'll keep an eye on performance and see if those errors impact anything major.
