I'm in the market for a new graphics card to upgrade my PC, and I'm looking for some advice. Here's my current setup:
- **CPU:** Ryzen 7 5700x 3.9 GHz
- **RAM:** 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
- **Motherboard:** MSI B450M BAZOOKA V2
- **Powersupply:** Either 750W or 850W, still deciding.
- **Current GPU:** GTX 1660 Super 6GB VRAM
I use a 1440p monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate, but I typically scale down to 1080p to reach around 100 FPS. I know that's not ideal, but that's the way it is since my dad chose the monitor three years ago.
I have a budget of around €400 to €500, and I'm open to both AMD and NVIDIA options, but I want to steer clear of Intel cards. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! 🙏

For under €500, you can definitely find the NVIDIA 5060 Ti or the AMD 9060XT. Just make sure to avoid any models with 8GB of RAM; they won't be enough for future-proofing your gaming experience. Check out PCPartPicker for a list of cards that meet your requirements—just look for options with more than 8GB of VRAM.
If you're looking for something that fits your rig well, an RTX 5070 would be a great choice. It's capable of handling 1440p gaming really well. However, I understand it might be above your budget in Portugal; I've seen it priced around €570 there, unfortunately.
Honestly, look for anything recent with at least 16GB of VRAM if you can. If you're really in a pinch, 12GB can work temporarily, but steer away from 8GB—future games will leave you wishing you had more.
Finding 16GB cards for under €500 has been a challenge for me, though!
You might want to check out the 5060 Ti with 16GB RAM, which is around €450. It's quite good for 1440p and a solid upgrade from your current card. The 9060XT is another option at about €380, and while it’s fast, it doesn’t have some of the fancy features like ray tracing that NVIDIA offers. Between those two, it's really a question of what you value more—NVIDIA's tech features or performance.
I’m stuck between the two since they’re similar in price, but do you think NVIDIA's features justify the extra cost?

Yeah, that’s a bit too high for me right now.
