Is upgrading from a Ryzen 3 3200G to a Ryzen 7 5700X really worth it?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my motherboard and CPU soon, leaning towards the Ryzen 7 5700X. Currently, I've got a Ryzen 3 3200G, which has been a solid choice for a budget build, especially when I first started out. However, I'm starting to notice some bottlenecks when I play more demanding games.

I've got a dedicated graphics card now, so I'm curious about how much of a performance leap I can expect moving to the Ryzen 7 5700X, especially considering that the 3200G has integrated graphics that might have limited its overall performance. I'd love to hear from anyone who's experienced both CPUs and can shed some light on the performance difference!

What motherboard are you using right now? You might not even need to change it! But if you're set on getting a new one, upgrading to AM5 could be a smarter move in the long run.

I'm using an Asus B450M Gaming BR. I know I can stick with it, but I've had two issues with BIOS/CMOS and tech support said it’s a chronic problem with that model.

Absolutely! Moving to the 5700X will give you a noticeable bump in performance, especially in gaming. The extra cores and threads will definitely help.

If you're switching motherboards and CPUs, you might want to think about going for AM5 instead of AM4 for future-proofing. Just a thought!

That might be a stretch for my budget at the moment 😡

Just so you know, the G CPUs cut down on cache to make space for graphics, so the non-G CPUs like the 5700X are generally a lot faster overall.
