Hey everyone! I recently switched to fiber optic internet, and I'm not sure if it's causing issues or if it's something related to my software. I'm having major trouble connecting to online multiplayer games, and even YouTube is acting up. My plan says I should be getting 1000 Mbps for downloads, so I don't think it's a network problem, but I'm completely lost.
It all started when I began playing Helldivers 2—none of my friends could join my game, and I kept getting disconnected when they tried to invite me. Then I tried Roblox for some casual fun, but I couldn't join any games, although my friends could join me just fine. Lately, I've been having the same issue with Space Marine 2 as well.
Moreover, my YouTube videos won't load; they drop down to 144p just to buffer. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Sounds like a frustrating situation! First, try rebooting your router; sometimes, that can resolve connection hiccups. Also, make sure your firmware is up to date. If those don't help, check if your network settings are configured correctly in your games. Are you using a wired connection or Wi-Fi? Wired connections tend to work better for gaming.
I had similar issues after switching to fiber. It turned out to be my network adapter settings. Check if your adapter is set to 'automatic' for IPv4 and IPv6. Also, disabling the QoS settings in your router might help improve your gaming experience. Good luck!
Thanks, StreamQueen! I’ll go through my adapter settings and see if that helps.
Thanks for the tips, GamerGuru! I'll reboot my router and check the settings. I’m currently on Wi-Fi, so I might look into a wired connection too.
