Where Can I Find Dummy or Display-Only PC Parts?

Hey everyone! I'm venturing into designing and manufacturing PC cases, a dream I've had since high school. I'm in the early stages and realizing I need some display components for my first prototype. I want to promote my work on social media and events, but I'd prefer using dummy or non-functional parts instead of real components (maybe just some fans for effect). Do these kinds of parts exist? Your insights would be much appreciated!

Another tip is to look for broken or fried components. They can be pretty cheap and still look decent for display purposes.

If you have a landfill nearby with an e-waste section, ask if you can sift through it. I’ve found some great stuff there, like old workstations. You can't beat free!

Check out eBay for items labeled as "parts only." These are typically broken components, but they'll work perfectly for what you need!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely browse eBay.

You can definitely find "for parts only" components on eBay. They usually sell for much less than working parts, so it's a great option for your display.

As someone with design experience, I'd recommend looking into custom fabrications for your cases. It can be pricey, but even just wrapping existing popular cases might give you that custom look you're after.
